Hollywood Studios International New Home for 'Brooklyn Brothers'

Los Angeles, CA – February 16, 2011 – Hollywood Studios International, the media holding company headed by Chairman & CEO Steven Saxton, announced today that it has acquired international sales rights, through its HSI Films division, to the comedy “The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best.” The announcement was made today by HSI Films President Eric Christenson.

Written, directed and starring Ryan O’Nan, the film’s ensemble cast includes Michael Weston (“Garden State”), Arielle Kebbel (“The Uninvited”), 2011 Golden Globe® winner and Academy Award® nominee Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”), Wilmer Valderrama (“That 70’s Show”), Andrew McCarthy (“Pretty in Pink”), Jason Ritter (“Swimfan”) and Christopher McDonald (“Happy Gilmore”).

“The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best” follows a singer/songwriter who has a bizarre run-in with a self-appointed music revolutionary and forms a two-man band that sets across the country. Currently in post-production, the film will feature a soundtrack of 14 original songs, written by O’Nan and New York band Crayon Rosary.

Producers are Jason Michael Berman and Kwesi Collisson. Executive producers are Mark G. Mathis, Sergio Aguero, Ruth Mutch and Sandy Berman.

HSI Films is introducing “Brooklyn Brothers” to foreign buyers for the first time at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin where the film is having its market debut.

In addition to “Brooklyn Brothers,” HSI’s international slate includes the record setting thriller “The Zero Hour” (Spanish title: “La Hora Cero”) – the highest grosing Venezuelan film in history (also a market debut).
