LOS ANGELES, CA – November 7th, 2011- Nominated for 4 Oscars With An Additional 14 Wins & 63 Nominations Worldwide, HSI/Artist International’s The Kids Are All Right is Just Right For HBO
HBO has announced it will develop the Oscar-nominated comedy The Kids Are All Right as an hour-long series for the small screen. Lisa Cholodenko, who co-wrote and directed the Artist International/Focus Features release, will write the pilot script.
Artist International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hollywood Studios International, was a production company for the critically acclaimed The Kids Are All Right, with HSI CEO Steven Saxton serving as an Executive Producer.
The film starred three-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening, four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Josh Hutcherson (Red Dawn), and Mark Ruffalo (Shutter Island).
“KIDS” was a favorite with the critics capturing an astounding 4 Oscar nominations, 2 Golden Globe wins and another 63 nominations worldwide.
The new series will continue to explore the adventures of the five main characters, the same-sex partners (played in the film by Annette Bening and Julianne Moore), their son and daughter (played by Josh Hutcherson and Mia Wasikowska) and the biological father of the kids/sperm donor who surfaces and tears the family apart (played by Mark Ruffalo in the film).
Lisa Cholodenko will be exec producer alongside the film’s original producers, Antidote Films’ Jeffrey Levy-Hinte, Gilbert Films’ Gary Gilbert and Maven Pictures’ Celine Rattray.
