Rusty Lemorande Signs With Artist International's Literary Division

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - Noted producer and scribe Rusty Lemorande has signed with Artist International for management, it was announced by Artist International's Joel Newton.

After launching his career in 1980 as an executive producer on "Die Laughing" and the classic comedy hit "Caddyshack," Lemorande executive produced the TV movie, "Stand By Your Man" for CBS. Following that, Rusty produced the Academy-Award-winning musical "Yentl" starring Barbra Streisand. Lemorande's producing and creative input into "Yentl" -- for which he won a Golden Globe in 1984 -- was the beginning of decades of successful involvement in the musical genre, including writing and developing musical projects at Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros, Turner and MGM for musical stars as diverse as Madonna, Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand.

In 1984 Lemorande wrote and produced the cult classic musical, "Electric Dreams." Considered the quintessential 80's musical, "Electric Dreams" launched the career of Virginia Madsen, who was recently nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "Sideways."

Lemorande's success with "Electric Dreams" opened the door for him to write and produce "Captain EO" starring Michael Jackson. This revolutionary 3D musical was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, produced by George Lucas, and featured Michael Jackson at the worldwide peak of his popularity. The film was only available in its 3D presentation at Disneyland in California, Florida, France and Tokyo, and proved to be one of the most popular attractions the park had ever created. Less than 20 minutes long and produced for 17 million dollars, at the time the project was the most expensive film project in history, minute for minute.

Lemorande expanded his career by writing and directing "Journey to The Center of The Earth" and "The Turn of the Screw" starring international stars Patsy Kensit, Stephane Audrane and Julian Sands.

Now managed by Artist International, Lemorande has recently been tapped to pen the pilot for a supernatural procedural TV drama. He is also repped by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
